 John and I had a most enjoyable time at Toormore. A cozy peaceful, elegant and characterful home in the midst of the most beautiful surroundings. It was exactly what we needed - to read, relax, listen to good music, drink wine looking into a gorgeous sea swept landscape - absolute bliss. Morgens Frühstück auf der Terasse mit Palmen und herrlichem Blick aufs Meer- einen schöneren Start in den Tag kann man sich nicht vorstellen. Die Küche ist wirklich super. Sie ist nicht nur gross und hübsch eingerichtet, sondern auch noch unglaublich praktisch ausgestattet. Es ist alles da was man zum kochen braucht. Das Wohnzimmer mit echten Steinwänden und Kamin urgemütlich, das Schlafzimmer komfortabel und mit schönem Ausblick aufs Meer. Wir haben gerne Touren in West Cork gemacht oder einfach Spaziergänge in der Umgebung vom Haus- der kleine Sandstrand unterhalb des Grundstücks hat uns ganz besonders entzückt. We like to suggest Toormore House because it is very charming and has an unique and homely atmosphere, and the setting next to the sea is beautiful ... West Cork at its best. Die ersten drei Tage: Super Wetter, Strand, goldener Sand und der Ozean. Rotwein und Sonnenuntergang ... ziemlich romantisch. Dann hat es geschüttet... aber wir haben es geliebt! Wir haben das ganze Haus behaglich und gemütlich gemacht. Nicht besonders schwer mit einem halben Dutzend Kaminen im Haus! All diese Bücher, Musik, Filme... Was für ein Paradies. The moment we drove up the steep driveway into the little private world it inhabits, we knew it was all that we had imagined. As described, it has a beautifully stocked kitchen, a warm and open conservatory, a cozy living room with walls of books, extremely comfortable beds, and a great bathroom. There are also a number of outdoor spots to sit. What makes it so special, though, is the incredible mixture of Mediterranean, Moorish, Irish and contemplative spirit. Achim has collected objects from his travels, and much of his own and other's art, and you are truly in his house. With the house comes a marvelous caretaker, Denise, who made us feel instantly welcome and was available for all questions and any kind of help. We also found that the compilation of information which Achim provided on the website was enormously useful in touring. We fell under the spell of West Cork, and alternated days of touring several of the peninsulas--each different--with lazy reading and walking down the driveway and out on the rocks across the road to watch the tides and the light change and just to bask in the spirit of place.
